But what do you really do during a game?

Well. Hopefully I will only fill water bottles during the intermission and keep track of time left until face off.

But during the game, the coaches have an eye out for the players, what they do and what they don´t do on ice. And trying to talk, coach and change.

Me, myself I keep an lookout for any problems with the gear. A problem with the skates are usually easy to spot. Then it´s just to talk to the player to get their view on the problem.

But it can be so much more. If a player looses their stick, I have to see who it is, find their stick in the rack of spare sticks and hand it out. And if it´s during important play, we are talking about seconds before the stick is to be handed out.

If there is an injury it´s my responsibility to sort it out. It can be anything from handing out an ice pack to dealing with an more serious injury that needs medical attention.

During intermission there can be all sorts of problems. Sharpening skates. Handing out pain killers. Sew some broken equipment. Give some words of advise. Fetch something that is forgotten somewhere. And a thousand other things.

And then after the game you have to clean out a lot of things. And then again. Laundry, laundry, laundry.

Clean the locker room. (I know that it´s not really my duty, but if I got some time over, I will do it).

And then. All the girls will leave the rink. I will be left all alone.

Now it´s time to get some time for myself. I will change into sweat suit and just savor the time I get to myself. Playing my music in the locker room and singing along. Well, yes, I do.

Then, it´s usually time to do it all over again. And maybe again for a third day.

Love the girls. Love the game. Be there. Always!
